The most famous aperitif in our country was born in 1860 in a small bar in Novara, the Caffe 'dell'amicizia, by the hand of Gaspare Campari, while he delighted in mixing an infusion, with the intention of creating a different aperitif for its clientele. Probably not even he imagined that he was creating the recipe for the most famous alcoholic bitter in the world, a recipe that has remained unchanged to this day. Top product of the Campari group, it has multiple uses, from aperitif, to bitter and still bitter, and is born from the infusion of the best bitter herbs, aromatic plants and fruit, together with the right amount of water and alcohol, with a characteristic intense ruby red color and the unmistakable aroma. Distributed in over 190 countries, among the most famous brands in the world, Campari is excellent to be consumed neat or with a splash of soda, but also as a base for numerous cocktails, some of historical importance and known all over the world, such as Negroni. Bright and characteristic ruby red color, on the nose it expresses numerous fruity aromas of currant and raspberry, together with sensations of cinnamon, pink pepper and cloves, in a herbaceous background of officinal and aromatic herbs. The taste is dry and decidedly bitter, however round, rich in sweet vanilla notes and spiciness that completes the taste leading to a smooth finish, in which a long bitter citrus trail reigns.
