Description
Metaxa is a Greek brandy. It is renowned all over the world for its color, its quality and its taste. To obtain this drink, three different grape varieties are used (Sultanina, Savatiano and Corinthe grapes). Once the distillate is obtained, it is left to develop its aromas in Limousin oak barrels for a minimum of three years. Muscat grapes, essences of rose petals and a secret series of aromatic plants are added to the brandy. Then you put this new mixture back into a barrel for the duration of another year. Before bottling, Metaxa spends many days at a temperature below zero, is filtered and finally bottled. Like many brandies, Metaxa is particularly popular with cigar smokers. In Greece, winter is more easily consumed than summer. Accompanies roasted chestnuts, walnuts and dried grapes. It can, however, be consumed in the summer with ice and in cocktails. 70 cl glass bottle
