Description
Amaro Averna is a Sicilian amaro, born in the lands of Caltanissetta in the second half of the 19th century when Fra Girolamo, a Capuchin friar of the Abbey of Santo Spirito in Caltanissetta, to repay the help received in a moment of particular difficulty ', he gave to his benefactor, Salvatore Averna, the recipe for a digestive liqueur. Neither of them could have ever imagined that that recipe would later become known and famous all over the world. This recipe, for 140 years now, has been handed down secretly between generations and the only thing we know is that it is a blend of herbs, spices and roots from Caltanissetta itself and from all over the world. The scents it gives off range from honey to the typical hints of Mediterranean scrub, rosemary and oregano, all against a background of bitter orange peel. Savoring a small quantity we find a rich, round and enveloping taste, characterized by notes of licorice and spices. 70 cl glass bottle
