Description
Cynar is a liqueur obtained from the infusion of 13 herbs and plants, including cinarina, extracted from the artichoke, renowned for its strong digestive properties. It is a product rich in fragrances and its low alcohol content (16.5 °) makes it accessible to many. Created in 1952, Cynar became popular with carousels, in particular from 1966, thanks to the successful series of films starring Ernesto Calindri and the catchphrase Against the wear and tear of modern life, later filmed with the participation of Elio and Le Storie Tese. Genuine and nice, with an ironic character, Cynar is a perfect amaro for the after meal and can be drunk straight or with ice. For a younger taste, it can be paired with tonic water or consumed with a splash of seltzer, perhaps softened by an orange slice.
