MONTENEGRO AMARO MAGNUM 3 LITERS
Digestive liqueur made from 40 aromatic herbs
The creator of the amaro was Stanislao Cobianchi, a Bolognese nobleman predestined by his family to an ecclesiastical career who, to escape his fate, fled from Bologna, traveling around the world.
During his stay in the principality of Montenegro he was struck by the digestive properties of a drink called Karik.
Back in Italy he worked in a Piedmontese liqueur shop where, having learned the trade, he was able to reproduce the recipe of the Montenegrin drink.
Back in Bologna he first opened a small liquor shop and later a distillery for the production of Amaro Montenegro.
The drink was much appreciated, to the point that Gabriele d'Annunzio defined it liqueur of the Virtudes.
