Description

Fontanafredda Barbaresco Coste Rubin 2019 - 75 Cl.

Tasting

On the nose the scent of ripe plum, blueberries and violets blends harmoniously with hints of licorice, cinnamon and tobacco. The well-structured tannins and intense fruit give a dense, full and enveloping flavour.

Fontanafredda

“Coste Rubin Le Righe” is a Barbaresco by Fontanafredda made with grapes from vineyards grown according to the principles of organic farming in the municipalities of Treiso, Barbarasco and Neive. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 250-300 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure facing south and south-west. The grapes are harvested in the first half of October and the best bunches are destemmed and sent to the fermentation phase, which takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Maceration on the skins lasts a dozen days, with frequent use of pumping over to promote better extraction. The wine rests for a period of a year in French oak barriques from Allier and in large 20-30 hectolitre barrels, then it is refined for a few months in steel tanks and is released for sale after a long period in the bottle in the estate's cellars.
