Description

Lunae Red Wine Vermentino Nero IGT 2021 - 75 CL.

Black Vermentino

Vermentino nero is a grape variety native to the coastal hills of upper Tuscany and the extreme eastern Liguria. Lunae was one of the first companies to strongly believe in the potential of this grape variety, planting a vineyard of about 3 hectares at the beginning of the 2000s.

Traditional Production Method

The grapes are grown in the foothill area characterised by medium-textured soils, and in the Luni plain area with predominantly sandy soils.

The characteristics of these two different terroirs, combined with the identity of the grape variety, lead to the expression of a wine of great finesse and balance with a strong territorial imprint.

To best enhance these characteristics we have chosen a very careful and delicate vinification, the fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature with a permanence on the skins of about 10 days and a subsequent refinement in large wooden barrels not excessively long.

Lunae: Family, History, Tradition

The winemaking tradition of this land has its roots in ancient history; as early as 177 aC a Roman colony was founded at the mouth of the Magra River and called “Portus Lunae”.

Pliny the Elder, in his work “Naturalis Historia” wrote about the wine of this place: “Etruriae Luna palma habet…” (65 dC ): “…of Etruria, that of Luni has the palm…”.

This was the origin and inspiration for the choice of our name, which encompasses all the principles that have guided and still guide the work in the vineyard and in the cellar.

The Bosoni family has always been linked to this territory. For four generations, we have done three things for work and vocation: we cultivate the vineyard, we produce wine and we preserve the culture of our territory.
