The Burnt Bolghieri

ll Bruciato was born in 2002, in one of the most difficult harvests of Tenuta Guado al Tasso, to tell and raise awareness of the unique terroir of Bolgheri in a modern style. The carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes come from vineyards located on soils with a wide geological variability capable of expressing great complexity.

Characteristics of the Wine

The color of Bruciato Guado al rate Bolgheri DOC is red and deep. The nose is dominated by intense notes of ripe red fruits, followed by notes of sweet spices and coffee. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and enveloping with silky tannins and a sweet and spicy finish.

This refined and elegant wine is produced through blended vinification of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, accompanied by 20% Merlot grapes and 15% Syrah grapes.

The soil

Of alluvial origin, from sandy-clay to silty-clay with in some cases significant presence of skeleton (called Bolgheri agglomerate).

The Vineyards

The Guado al Tasso vineyards are located at the foot of the Bolgheri Amphitheater and, during the night, the cold air descends from the hills to cool the rows. These particular climatic conditions give the grapes a marked aroma and guarantee perfect ripening of the grape.
