Alauda Toscana IGT

Introduced in 2011, Alauda represents the pinnacle of Ruffino’s artisanal approach and innovative spirit. Produced exclusively in exceptional vintages, it expresses the terroir of the Poggio Casciano estate to the fullest through a blend of native Tuscan grapes and international varieties.

Ancient Estate of Poggio Casciano

The grapes come exclusively from the Tenuta Poggio Casciano estate:

Merlot is grown in the Poggio al Mandorlo vineyard, the Cabernet Franc comes from the Rapale vineyard and the Colorino from the Alexander vineyard.

All the vineyards are located at an altitude between 290 and 450 meters above sea level with soils characterized by a rich presence of clay, limestone and small percentages of silt.
