Description
The history of this Rum dates back to around 1800, when Don Juan Nieto, a lover of liqueurs, started a collection calling it the 'ambassador's reserve'. Such was the passion that he himself decided to throw himself headlong into the world of the distillery, trying to create something for himself and for others. Today the Unidas Distillery produces this now noble rum, in a territory in the state of Lara, in a small town, where 80% of all the sugar cane of Venezuela is produced; the Diploma'tico is composed of a blend of 60 types of Rum all different from each other (!!!!!!) and, due to the complexity it presents, it is subjected to an aging of 12 years. Further note of merit: the water used for distillation is the pure one of the Andes, obtained from wells at a depth of about 50-60 meters and the final distillate is not added with anything except a very small quantity of caramel. If you haven't figured it out yet .... Dark amber color with golden and luminous reflections. Complex nose of resin, vanilla and aromas of pastry, evolves towards orange peel and cocoa, all accompanied by a spice of cinnamon and coriander. In the mouth it reveals incredible fullness, in continuous contrast between the sweetness of the fruit and the bitterness of the caramel, in a context of spices and dried flowers that complete a very long persistence of extremely elegant cocoa.
