Voted the best rum in the world on multiple occasions, Santa Teresa 1796 is produced in Venezuela, at Hacienda Santa Teresa. This family distillery is one of the oldest in the country, founded in the late 18th century, more precisely in the year 1796. This exceptional rum of rare complexity blends spirits aged in the solera system, allowing for a harmonious blend of young and old rums. This Spanish process stacks the barrels in multiple lines. In a long process, we compensate for the loss due to natural evaporation (the angels' share), topping up (filling) from the top to the bottom, with the young rums always on top. Only the floor (oldest) barrels will be bottled. This method of aging and blending ensures a consistent flavor profile, refines the alcohol and rounds out the body.
