Elusive Expressions 2022, hand selected by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson, includes select Scotch whiskeys from some of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland. “A collection that pushes the boundaries with aromas and finishes that truly redefine what cask-strength whiskeys can be. From abundantly rich flavors, to surprisingly rare, each is vividly brought to life with new energy. Special release 2022

For the King of Islay, the blending team selected extra smoky whiskey casks, then added whiskey finished with new oak, creating extra layers of spice to an already big, smoky whisky. Brilliant and iridescent gold, the nose immediately welcomes us with smoke, coal and peat, supported by a base note of mineral hints and sea breeze. In the mouth it enters soft, then leaving room for notes of lemon and sea salt, for a sensation of light astringency; This is followed by an intense golden sugar sweetness wrapped in moist green leaves, earth, black pepper and tart green apples, towards a finish of moist oak and smoldering woods, earthy notes and dashes of minty chocolate chips.
