The Kata 'of the Olivella Cellars comes from an ancient Catalan variety vine, recently promoted to winemaking despite the long tradition of production and popular serving. Only in 2011 was the production disciplinary drawn up which led to the IGP designation of the Catalanesca del Monte Somma wine. Catalan white wine has a very ancient history that begins with the importation of the Catalan grape variety from Catalonia on the slopes of Vesuvius, by Alfonso I of Aragon in the fifteenth century. The name Catalanesca comes from its area of origin, Catalonia. The grapes used to produce Kata 'Cantine Olivella are harvested between October and November. Straw yellow in color, the aromas and taste of this IGT from Monte Somma are strongly influenced by the Vesuvian countryside. On the nose, the hints of apricot, rowan, cantaloupe, pineapple, broom and chamomile leave room for a marked typical almond note. On the palate a marked mineral vein reflects its volcanic origin. The freshness of this wine makes it excellent as an aperitif or to accompany raw or cooked seafood and well-seasoned white meats. 75 cl glass bottle
