Description
Verdicchio Riserva dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore by Bucci has been one of the most important wines of this appellation for a long time now.
The Bucci family expresses the close bond with their land: the company, today covering 350 hectares, is cultivated with diversified production (durum and soft wheat, corn, sugar beets, peas, seed crops, sunflowers, oil and wine).
The calcareous soils, the different exposures of the vineyards, a careful work on each single vineyard and the use of large eighty-year-old barrels provide the perfect representation of Verdicchio.
Verdicchio Riserva is vinified with grapes from the oldest plants, between 40 and 50 years old, fermented in steel and aged in 50 and 70hL Slavonian oak barrels for a year and a half, followed by a further year in the bottle before placing on the market.
VERDICCHIO RESERVE OF THE CASTLES OF JESI 2017 BUCCI:
THE TASTING
Bucci's Verdicchio Riserva dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is bright straw yellow.
The nose is intense and broad: fresh almond, hazelnut, acacia and orange blossom, pineapple, aromatic herbs, spices and flint.
In the mouth it has great body, nice acidity, salty and fruity aftertaste.
To be combined almost like a red wine, only when chilled, not cold, for example with larded guinea fowl breast. "
